Instant success at British Coffee Association’s golf day
Hampshire golfer Richard Davies managed to find the perfect blend at the British Coffee Association’s golf day at the Temple Golf Club, Berkshire, when he landed a £10,000 prize for a hole-in-one.
Fourteen-handicapper Davies, a member at Worldham Golf Club, in Alton, struck his ace on the 212-yard, eighth to take home the prize, which was sponsored by AGC Commodity Store Ltd, a member of the British Coffee Association.
It was the sixth successive year that AGC has sponsored the range of hole-in-one prizes on offer on the day – all covered by hole-in-one insurance from Worldwide Hole ‘N One.
Davies said: “The ball rolled out of sight and I thought it was gone, and then it re-appeared to trickle towards the hole and in it went!”
Assistant club secretary Stan Edwards was amazed and added: “This is only the third hole-in-one we have had this year at the club, but never on this hole.”
