Hole In One
Whilst it should be a straight forward shot at the pin the 9th is particularly challenging as it is in an elevated position requiring an accurate shot between trees on both sides. For accuracy I usually use a 7 or 8 iron and leave it short for a pitch and putt. On this occasion however the hole had been selected for a nearest the pin so I used my Ping Karsten 5 wood for that extra distance.I felt I had hit a good shot, though on approaching the green, we were puzzled not to see the ball. After a brief search, a little optimistically I said to my two companions, there's only one place we haven't looked. There it was, in the hole. This is my first hole in one, made all the better by being on a competition day with a sit down meal afterwards; needless to say the wine flowed freely, necessitating a lift home some time later.
